Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study to obtain a comprehensive understanding of Korean hospital nurse'; experience in their first year of practice. The findings of this study will provide supportive data for nurse's policies to establish well adaptable circumstances for nurses.

Methods: This study were explored by hermeneutic phenomenological analytic method suggested by van Manen. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 9 nurses between April and May, 2017.

Results: The analysis produced six themes: 'Feeling like a different world', 'It's hard to endure with endless things', 'Feeling heavy heart', 'Gaining the power to bear', 'Thinking about my parents', 'Feeling better'.

Conclusion: These results can present a vivid evidence base and can pave the ground for newly graduated nurses how to increase their adaptation. According to the results, we recommend to better understand the unique perspective of newly graduated nurses around the experiences of relationship with senior nurses. Further studies of this subject can prove them how to make positive and successful relationship and solve social- psychological problems.
